Plums are coming into season and this easy recipe is not just good on toast, but can be used as a glaze for chicken.

Stir together first 4 ingredients in a 4 quart microwave-safe glass bowl. Microwave, uncovered, for 8 minutes on high (mixture will boil); stir.

Microwave on high for another 10-12 minutes or until liquid is the viscosity of pancake syrup. Stir in basil.

Cool completely as this will thicken the preserves to soft-set. Cover and chill and store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks.
